Peaches, whose real name is Merrill Beth Nisker, is a Canadian musician and actress known for her provocative performances and cross-genre projects. In the film DESIRE WILL SET YOU FREE (2015), directed by Yony Leyser, she plays herself in a work that sheds light on Berlin's queer underground scene. Alongside her music career, Peaches has appeared in various film and television productions. In the Canadian series “Orphan Black” (2016), she appeared as herself in the seventh episode of the fourth season; the episode was directed by David Wellington. She also appeared in the second season of the series “The L Word” (2005) in the twelfth episode, directed by Ilene Chaiken. Another notable project is the film “Peaches Does Herself” (2012), in which she directed and starred. This autobiographical music film is based on her own stage show and premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. Peaches' versatile career spans music, film and performance art, always challenging and redefining the boundaries of genre and gender.
