In 1981, it was still illegal to be homosexual in France. Today same-sex marriage is recognized. This is story of Charles, Victor and Diego, three generations of the same family. The story begins with site manager Charles and his son Victor, who earns some extra money on his father's construction site. Victor meets Selim, the foreman's son, there. The two young men become closer. When Charles learns about the relationship, a break between father and son occurs. The three episodes show that it was not always easy to be proud. As a portrait of a family that has found a way, PROUD functions as a chronology of domestic tolerance and a gauge of the social mood.
