A small village in Turkey is fighting the destruction of their livelihoods that is being caused by pollution. Despite years of resistance from the inhabitants of Camburnu, a village on the Turkish Black Sea coast, a rubbish dump was built not far from the village, where rubbish from the big city of Trapzon also ends up. The plant, built under generous interpretation of the regulations, not only pollutes the air with its stench, but also pollutes the groundwater... Director Fatih Akin premiered his documentary Polluting Paradise at the Cannes International Film Festival.
