Eric Fiedler and Campino have gained unique insights into the life and work of one of the most important representatives of contemporary cinema and filmed a unique portrait. The two were able to accompany Wim Wenders exclusively for a year through his everyday life as an artist. The film traces iconic locations and turning points in Wenders' work. To do so, it combines never-before-shown archival footage, expressive film clips and conversations with companions, friends and colleagues, including Francis Ford Coppola, Willem Dafoe, Andie MacDowell, Patti Smith and Werner Herzog. "Directors Eric Friedler and Andreas Frege, a.k.a. Campino, succeed in analyzing, questioning and paying tribute to Wim Wenders' life and work in a critical-analytical manner that is thoroughly artful." (Spielfilm)
