This road movie comedy that charts a high school graduate's escape from his rural Bavarian home to Red Square in Moscow with vague dreams of world revolution. Lower Bavaria in a time before smart phones and the young Quirin is a rebel in search of a cause. He is haunted in his dreams by Bavarian King Ludwig and ultra conservative Minister President Franz Josef Strauß. So Quirin and his friends Joker and Wurst head off to Moscow in an old meat truck, hoping to be trained as a revolutionaries by El Maximo Lider Fidel himself. TRANS BAVARIA is the most hilarious cultural clash between Bavaria and the world at large since Percy Adlon's surprise hit “Baghdad Café”. Adlon alumnus Eisi Gulp (“Sugar Baby”) appears in TRANS BAVARIA in a supporting role.
