Mikołaj Trzaska is a Polish jazz legend. An original and open-minded artist deserves an equally unconventional film. The creators of THE INTERNAL EAR, Szymon Uliasz and Magdalena Gubała, searched for and found a film language that captures both the greatness of improvised jazz and the music philosophy of one of Poland's finest contemporary musicians. This documentary, which was shown at the Krakow Film Festival, is dedicated to the multi-instrumentalist Trzaska, who is particularly known for his avant-garde style and his talent for improvisation. He has worked with international jazz greats such as Lester Bowie and Peter Brötzmann and shares the later's unconventional approach.
