This visually stunning monumental work is an emphatic reminder of the enduring threat of total annihilation by nuclear weapons.
The driving electro soundtrack was composed especially for the film by electronic music quartet The Acid. Intentionally non-chronological, THE BOMB edits together footage of missile tests, military parades, and instructional films.
Sponsored by the MacArthur Foundation, the film was conceived for projection onto meter-high, 360-degree screens. As classic silent films, it was to be presented with live music performed by The Acid. However, the work also unfolds its full impact on home screens.
