An introduction to the work and aesthetic theories of the Danish artist Olafur Eliasson, which also documents one of his largest exhibitions. The focus is on the exhibition "Notion Motion" at the Boijmans van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam. An excursus is devoted to Hans Richter and his abstract film "Rhythm 21" from 1921. Since the beginning of the 1990s, Olafur Eliasson (*1967), who grew up in Copenhagen, has built up an enormous oeuvre of rainbows, sunsets, waterfalls, scented walls, fog and rays of light. His works move between natural phenomena and technology. Eliasson's work leads the viewer back to himself by allowing him to experience his own perception through his senses.
