Brothers Ayman (12) and Osama (13) are sons of al-Nusra rebel leader Abu Osama, grow up in Syria destroyed by civil war and are supposed to become god warriors.
Director Talal Derki returns to his home country for this film and poses as a follower of the Salafists in order to gain the trust of Abu Osama's radical Islamist family. Over a period of two years, he follows their daily lives and reveals unique and emotional insights into an otherwise hermetically sealed world.
