Two gay Syrians in exile take part in a beauty contest in Istanbul to increase the visibility of the Syrian LGBTQI community.
Husein works as a hairdresser and is stranded in Istanbul, Mahmoud campaigns for LGBT rights in Berlin. What unites the two is their crazy dream of participating in the international beauty contest "Mr. Gay World." The organizer Mahmoud - who has already received asylum in Berlin - wants to offer the winner a travel opportunity and at the same time draw international attention to the life-threatening situation of LGBT Syrians.
