In search of an old Finnish friend, the Chinese cook Cheng travels with his son to a remote village in Lapland and finds more than he was looking for. Upon arrival, no one in the village seems to know his friend, but the local café owner Sirkka offers him a place to stay. In return, Cheng helps her in the kitchen, and soon the locals are surprised by the delicacies of Chinese cuisine. Despite cultural differences, Cheng quickly finds recognition and new friends among the Finns. When his tourist visa expires, the villagers make a plan to help him stay...
