She is perhaps the most unusual poet of our time: Hélène, 30, looks like a teenager, cannot speak and has never learned to read or write. Yet, when Hélène was 20 years old, her mother discovered that she could communicate by creating words out of laminated plastic letters. Under her stage name "Babouillec", she publishes short but powerful, physical texts with a caustic humour. Though Hélène describes herself as part of a "miscalibrated batch that doesn’t fit in anywhere", she's a visionary author. The thinking contained in her telepathic poetry is deep and far ranging, speaking to us of her world and ours. Filmmaker Julie Bertuccelli accompanies Hélène as she collaborates with a theatre director adapting her work.
