Her Name Was Jo
Action & Abenteuer
Ten-year-old Joe lives with her abusive and drug-addicted stepfather in a trailer park. When he dies of an overdose, she takes off in his beat-up car.
Jo spends her days on the riverbank with her best friend Selma, fishing and looking for scrap metal. At night for comfort she listens to folk songs sung by her alleged biological father. With Selma in tow, she pawns her stepdad's tools and an old flat-screen TV for some quick cash, and heads to Los Angeles in hopes of finding her biological father.
As she travels across the country, we discover the brutal portrait of America's dark side and the resilience of childlike innocence in the face of abandonment.
