A Finnish pulp mill on the border between Uruguay and Argentina is causing diplomatic uproar. The inhabitants of Fray Bentos, Uruguay hope for jobs, while their neighbours from Gualeguaychú, Argentina fear environmental damage. The result is a prolonged protest and the closure of local border crossings. Sebastian Mayayo's documentary film accompanies demonstrators, Finnish migrants and a woman receiving love letters from Europe. FRAYLANDIA reaches its climax at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, where the conflict between the two countries is to be resolved.
