Chile's National Road 7, the Carretera Austral, will connect the center of the country with its southern tip and is an expression of man's urge to conquer.
For almost 50 years, more and more space has been wrested from nature and yet the road is far from being completed. The journey south is blocked through the narrow Chilean land mass by massive jungle, rugged mountains, fjords, and a huge ice field.
The expansion of this road has caused great changes to the heart of Patagonia, and to the people who depend on the Carretera Austral. This documentary teaches a bit more about the people and the history of this unique country.
