Masao Adachi, born in 1939, is a well-known Japanese scriptwriter and director who in 1974 joined the ‘Japanese Red Army’. Founded by Fusako Shigenobu in Lebanon, the the ‘Japanese Red Army’ worked closely with the ‘Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine’ (PFLP). The author and director of experimental and Pink Eiga films is a member of the Japanese new left who turned from political filmmaker to guerillero.
