When Paul Came Over The Sea
Paul Nkamani has made his way from Cameroon through the Sahara to Europe. But even when he arrives in Germany, his future remains uncertain.
The Cameroonian Paul Nkamani meets the filmmaker Jakob Preuss on his journey to Morocco. But shortly afterwards Paul's rubber dinghy capsizes, which is supposed to take him to Europe and half of his fellow travellers die. Shaken by the television images of this tragedy, Jakob sets out to find Paul in Spain. When he decides to travel from Spain to Germany, Jakob has to decide: Should he actively support Paul in his quest for a better life or remain in the role of the observer filmmaker?
