Chad, today: Adam, 60 years old, is the proud lifeguard of a hotel pool. When his son and colleague Abdel is to take over his position, he sells him to the army. After a Chinese investor takes over the hotel where Adam and his son work, Adam has to give way to the next generation. At the same time a rebel group wages a bloody civil war against the government. So Adam beats two birds with one stone: His son Abdel is "kidnapped" by the army. He can keep his identity-creating job and appease local military leaders. But the guilt weighs heavily on him.
