The three young Mongolian cross-country skiers Usukhbayar (17), Oyunchimeg (11) and Gerelt-Od (27) defy all odds to become part of the international sports elite. Taking part of it is everything, because the sportsmen lack suitable training facilities and competition tracks recognized by the World Ski Federation FIS. In fact, everything is missing - just not the motivation, the joy and the fighting spirit of the athletes. This is something that former German Olympic cross-country skier and national coach Georg Zipfel would like to change. In view of these conditions, he feels reminded of his own beginnings in the Black Forest. On behalf of the World Ski Federation, he is committed to cross-country skiing in Mongolia together with the Mongolian Federation.
