Severino

Severino, a member of the indigenous population of South America, returns to his home village after ten years in the city. The situation has deteriorated dramatically. Robberies and cattle thefts are the order of the day, and someone is trying to set the indigenous population and white settlers against each other. Severino sacrifices his savings to buy land and learns about the mysterious Andean pass that facilitates the transport of cattle. Then his father is murdered. Severino gains comrades-in-arms and takes action against the bandits responsible for the murder and strife. SEVERINO is the only DEFA "Indian-movie" set in South America.
