Das Haus am Fluss

Germany in the wartime winter of 1941/42. The four women of the Voß family live a quiet life, largely untroubled by the war, until they receive a package from the Eastern Front. Mother Voß, her two daughters Agnes and Lisbeth and daughter-in-law Emmi. They accept the war as inevitable and want to make the best of it for themselves. Emmi has received a Ukrainian peasant blouse from her husband Paul. Agnes wants a fur from her husband Jupp, who also has to go to the Eastern Front. While the men are at war, the women realize only belatedly what price they, too, have to pay for the war.
