Five actors, one film set and the mysterious absence of the crew: what begins like an ordinary day of shooting unfolds into an experimental break from the conventions of narrative cinema. After a night of drinking, the protagonists suddenly find themselves alone in a remote hut in the Tuscan mountains. Without a director, script or digital escape routes, reality, fiction and role models begin to falter. The actors improvise what the setting demands of them, struggling not only with the claustrophobic confines of the hut, but also with the dissolution of social masks. The dynamic is reminiscent of Buñuel's classic “The Exterminating Angel”, which served as inspiration. But here the concept is taken further: not only the characters, but also the cinematic structure dissolves. The result is a work that deliberately does not provide any answers, but instead confronts the audience with open questions. The production did without a conventional script, making the film an intense, raw experiment. Thanks to an outstanding cast, including David Bredin and Katharina Sporrer, as well as the visionary direction of David Jahn, it manages to create a narrative freedom that is rarely seen in cinema. Awarded at the “Achtung Berlin” festival, this work is a courageous plea for the boundlessness of cinema.
