Storm

STORM is a gripping political thriller that takes you into the dark corridors of the international war crimes tribunal in The Hague. Hannah Maynard, an experienced prosecutor, faces one of her greatest challenges: She is conducting the trial of Goran Duric, a former commander of the Yugoslav People's Army. Duric is accused of being responsible for the deportation and murder of Bosnian Muslim civilians during the war in Yugoslavia. The trial takes a dramatic turn when the main prosecution witness suddenly commits suicide after his credibility is shaken by contradictions in his testimony. Hannah decides not to give up and travels to Sarajevo to attend the witness's funeral and investigate further. There she meets Mira, the sister of the deceased witness, who is more deeply involved in the events than it first appears. Although Mira is initially reluctant to share her story - for fear of putting her family in danger and reliving her traumatic past - she ultimately decides to testify before the tribunal. In a web of political intrigue, the burden of the past and the search for justice, Hannah must find the difficult balance between personal idealism and the harsh realities of international politics. STORM not only sheds light on the complexities of war crimes trials, but also raises profound questions about the moral responsibility of justice in times of political conflict.
