SWEETHEART (original title: "Chouchou") is a gripping eight-part drama series that explores the boundaries of love and morality in modern society. The series follows Chanelle Chouinard, a 38-year-old French teacher who becomes embroiled in a dangerous love affair with her 17-year-old student Sandrick. This young man, who comes from a difficult background, captivates Chanelle with his maturity and charisma. What begins as an innocent fascination quickly develops into a forbidden affair that threatens not only Chanelle's family, but also her professional career and her self-image. The series sheds light on the profound consequences of such a relationship and turns the lives of everyone involved upside down. Chanelle's husband and children have to deal with the emotional and social consequences of their decisions, while Sandrick tries to escape his troubled home environment. The film is directed by Félix Tétreault and Marie-Claude Blouin, who have already gained experience in staging complex character dynamics with "Le Chalet". The main roles are played by Evelyne Brochu as Chanelle and Lévi Doré as Sandrick, supported by Sophie Cadieux and Steve Laplante in supporting roles. SWEETHEART promises to captivate viewers with its intense storytelling and nuanced performances. The series not only sheds light on the characters' personal struggles, but also encourages reflection on societal norms and the often hidden aspects of human relationships.
