Second Thoughts

Marie is blindsided by her boyfriend at his brother's wedding in front of the assembled family with a marriage proposal. Marie has no idea how to react to this. She flees to the countryside to think about herself, her life and her relationship alone. Alone? In her mother's vacation home, things soon get increasingly tighter and more absurd: because Marie's thoughts suddenly take shape, her "thought people" become more numerous and more penetrating. They force possible baby names on her, an ex-boyfriend climbs down from trees and a "lyrical I" in a sari proclaims Marie's inner world in verse. "Because not only am I a huge fan of my colleague Zora Rux, but I also think her films are uncompromising and courageous. I also watch my friend Lola Klamroth incredibly spellbound, impressed and awestruck in every role she plays, even off the theater stage." (Sooner Curator Eline Gehring) "With its enigmatic tableaux vivants, this imaginative feature film debut is in the tradition of Swedish surrealist Roy Andersson. With poetic images, the film plumbs the search for one's own life path through the introspection of the main characters." (filmdienst)
