"Berlin died for me after the Volksbühne dismantled the wheel sculpture and a cross was erected on the Berlin Palace." This is how filmmaker Antonio Nábolo sums up local cultural politics. Nábolo fell out with his team while shooting a film about culture and politics in the German capital and left Berlin. Shortly thereafter he disappeared, simply vanished. Berlin documentary filmmaker Eberhard Spreng takes up Nábolo's powerful film torso and puts it on essayistic legs. In doing so, Spreng also explores the question of what changes both the concept of culture and the understanding of culture have undergone in the transition from the 20th to the 21st century.
