Love and 50 Megatons

40-year-old rocket scientist Paul (Hendrik Heutmann) falls in love with an intercontinental missile named Mary (Martina Schöne-Radunski), that holds an impressive 50 megaton warhead. In this fictional world, a wall runs through the city and the countryside around it. The two sides are hostile to each other. But Paul doesn't dwell on the differences and won't choose sides. His friend, Frederick, loyal to the regime, uses Paul's forbidden love to get permission for the nuclear first strike. Paul and Mary join forces to prevent Armageddon - but at what cost? In a lovingly designed world, an international nuclear conflict plays out here literally in miniature.
