Language Is a Love Story

Ms. Louiseau is a dedicated French teacher at a language school in Montréal for adult immigrants. The names of her students* are as varied as her stories. Since 2009, half a million immigrants have arrived in Quebec, so that today one in eight Quebecer is an immigrant. They come from Sri Lanka, Morocco, Bangladesh, Syria, Haiti or Taiwan. Some of them are attending school for the first time, some are illiterate. They all want to learn, find work, and see their families grow up in a peaceful environment. Their stories meet in the classroom and they share their hopes and concerns under the eyes of a human and selfless teacher.
