According to the German Immigration Act, Turkish women are only granted a residence permit if the applicant can prove that they have sufficient knowledge of the German language. In observational images, director Emine Balci draws a portrait of young Kurdish women, who therefore go back to school. They live with their parents or parents-in-law and would like to follow their husbands working in Germany. They give up friendships and ties without knowing what to expect in their new homeland, and many of them also know only inadequately the man they will live with.
