In his documentary, Aljoscha Pause examines the careers of football coaches in Germany, from their training as simple football teachers to national coaches. Germany has long since become the land of tactical foxes, self-appointed national coaches and sofa-zampanos. The few chosen ones, who are allowed to pursue this national favourite hobby professionally and at high pay, are not least for this reason the focus of judgement of the football crazy masses. Professional coaches operate at the epicentre of the modern media machinery - in the already completely irrational football business. The superficial and tendentious reporting culture of some media promotes this mood of irrationality. The pressure is often immense.
