In Rehearsal

A documentary series about seven of the most successful conductors of the second half of the 20th century during rehearsals for upcoming concerts. We follow Pierre Boulez, Christoph von Dohnányi, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Valéry Gergiev, Zubin Mehta, Sir John Eliot Gardiner and Mariss Jansons as they prepare for upcoming concerts. In one-on-one interviews they reveal their musical approaches, the difficulties sometimes encountered during rehearsals, and their personal relationship to the music. We watch as the conductors foster a close relationship with the orchestra and its musicians.
