The Problem Is My Wife

A documentary reenactment of therapy sessions, which in a fascinating way gets to the bottom of the social as well as psychological backgrounds of male assault. In a laboratory setting with real violence counselors and (real) actors, Calle Overweg shows perpetrators of domestic violence trying to break out of the spiral of their violence. The cases shown in this film are fictitious after long research. Domestic violence experts have also made sure that the men portrayed resemble the real ones. Similarities to living persons are intentional.
