The Attackables

Mary Blick and Zeno Conradi fight their way through this modern fairy tale somewhere between Kreuzberg patchwork family life, precarious acting jobs and superheroism. The illustrious cast of gymnasts, dancers, musicians and martial artists work on performances, the re-enactment of a silent film classic or the opening of their own theme park. And as if in passing, questions of the compatibility of feminist and vegan lifestyles and existentialism are negotiated. With their episodic film, the director/artist duo Kerstin Cmelka & Mario Mentrup have created a contemporary cinema of attractions that not only features unexpected changes in narrative style and image formats.
