Adam, 60, lives in Chad and is the proud lifeguard of a hotel pool. When his son and co-worker Abdel is to take over his position, he sells him to the army. After a Chinese investor takes over the hotel where Adam and his son work, Adam has to leave and make way for the next generation. At the same time, a rebel group is waging a bloody civil war against the government. So Adam kills two birds with one stone: His son Abdel is "kidnapped" by the army.
