Queen of Niendorf

The summer holidays have just begun in the small Brandenburg town of Niendorf, but ten-year-old Lea is not going to the summer camp with her friends this year as usual. In fact, she finds the other girls in her school increasingly peculiar. So Lea mostly wanders through the village alone on her bike and visits the musician and dropout Mark. Joya Thome's feature film debut, in competition at Max Ophüls Prize, tells the story of 10-year-old Lea's summer holidays with an almost documentary character.
