Denis Villeneuve

The Canadian film director and screenwriter is probably the best known director from the French-speaking part of the country. Already his first two films 32nd AUGUST ON EARTH and MAELSTRÖM were submitted as Canada's entries for an Oscar nomination in the category of Best Foreign Language Film. Oscar nominations followed for his films THE WOMAN WHO SINGS - INCENDIES and Arrival. Most recently, Villeneuve attracted attention with the science fiction remakes Blade Runner 2049 and Dune.
