Klaus Stern is a German documentary filmmaker and filmmaker known for his precise and compelling documentaries. In 2005, his documentary “Weltmarktführer – Die Geschichte des Tan Siekmann” was awarded the Herbert Quandt Media Prize by the Johanna Quandt Foundation. The film recounts the rise and fall of the New Economy company Biodata AG, which developed security technology, and vividly illuminates the ups and downs of the business world. For this work, Stern also received the Adolf Grimme Award in the category of Information & Culture in 2006.
His documentary VERSICHERUNGSVERTRETER – DIE ERSTAUNLICHE KARRIERE DES MEHMET GÖKER received the Helmut Schmidt Journalism Award.
