Jasmin Astaki-Bardeh

Director

Jasmin Astaki-Bardeh is a German director, author and journalist who deals with socio-political topics and postcolonial media narratives. Born in 1992, she studied cultural and social sciences in Berlin and Tehran, as well as documentary film directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Her work focuses particularly on the cinematic representation of minorities, migration and gender justice. In addition to her work as a reporter for ZDF, Astaki-Bardeh co-founded Zündholz Film- und Fernsehproduktion with Adrian Huber in 2021. Her documentary films and projects are characterized by her precise observation and commitment to diverse perspectives, making her an important voice in modern documentary film.
