Jack Dee is an English stand-up comedian, actor, and writer, best known for his sarcastic, deadpan style of comedy. He initially pursued a career in catering but switched to comedy in the late 1980s. Dee gained significant recognition after winning the British Comedy Award for Best Stand-Up Comedian in 1991. He has appeared in several TV shows, including the sitcom "Lead Balloon," which he co-wrote and starred in, portraying the misanthropic comedian Rick Spleen. Dee also hosted the long-running panel show "I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue" on BBC Radio 4 and presented "Jack Dee: Live at the Apollo," a popular stand-up comedy series. In terms of awards, Jack Dee received the British Comedy Award for Best Stand-Up Comedian in 1997 and the Television and Radio Industries Club Award for Best TV Comedy Personality in 2010. His contribution to comedy has made him a well-respected figure in the British entertainment industry.
