Herbert Köfer was a prominent German actor known for his extensive career in film, television, and theater, spanning several decades. Born on February 17, 1921, in Berlin, Köfer's career began in the early 1940s. He became one of the most recognizable faces on East German television, particularly with the Deutscher Fernsehfunk (DFF). Some notable films he appeared in include "Ehe im Schatten" (1947), "Ach, du fröhliche…" (1962), and "Rückkehr ins Leben" (1977). He also had the distinction of hosting the first-ever television broadcast in East Germany in 1952. Over his career, Köfer received several accolades, including the National Prize of East Germany.
