Some of his notable films include "Der blaue Engel" (1930), where he starred alongside Marlene Dietrich, "F.P.1 antwortet nicht" (1932), "Gold" (1934), and "Münchhausen" (1943), where he played the title role. He was one of the most popular and highest-paid actors of his time in Germany. Albers navigated the difficult political landscape of Nazi Germany with a mixture of tact and apparent compliance, continuing to work during the regime's rule.
