Gerhard Klein was a German film director known for his work in East Germany during the post-World War II era. He was a prominent figure in the DEFA film studios and is considered one of the leading directors of the East German cinema. Some of his notable films include "The Gleiwitz Case" (1961), "Berlin - Schoenhauser Corner" (1957), and "Berlin 1885" (1951). Klein received the National Prize of East Germany in 1952 for his contributions to cinema.
