Eva-Maria Hagen

Eva-Maria Hagen was a prominent German actress and singer, born on October 19, 1934, and passed away on August 16, 2022. She started her career in East Germany and became well-known in the 1950s and 1960s. Some of her notable films include "Don Juan - Karl-Liebknecht-Str. 78" (1958) and "Heute ist Freitag" (1963). She also had a successful singing career and was often referred to as the "Brigitte Bardot of the GDR." Hagen faced political challenges due to her opposition to the East German regime, which led to her expulsion from East Germany in 1977. Despite these challenges, she continued her career in West Germany and maintained a notable presence in the arts. Her daughter, Nina Hagen, became a famous punk rock singer.
