Candy Darling, born James Lawrence Slattery on November 24, 1944, was an American actress and prominent figure in Andy Warhol's entourage. Darling was a transgender icon known for her roles in Warhol-directed films. She starred in movies such as "Flesh" (1968) and "Women in Revolt" (1971). Her striking presence and talent earned her a cult following, but she did not receive major awards during her lifetime. Candy Darling passed away at the age of 29 due to lymphoma on March 21, 1974.
