Buzz Aldrin is primarily known as an astronaut and engineer rather than an actor or director. He was the Lunar Module Pilot on Apollo 11, the first manned lunar landing in history, and the second person to walk on the moon in 1969. Aldrin graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and earned a Doctor of Science degree in astronautics from MIT. He served as a fighter pilot in the Korean War before joining NASA. While not known for a traditional career in film or directing, Aldrin has made numerous appearances in documentaries and television series related to space exploration and has written several books. His contributions to space exploration have earned him numerous accolades, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
